Clarity. Curiosity. Connection.

Hi, I’m Chantal Miranda — a U.S. Army veteran, business professional, and graduate student at Bellevue University

Professional Background

My professional life has always revolved around responsibility, security, and service.
I’ve spent years working in federal and military environments — from supervising terminal operations on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands to my current role in security and access control at an Army installation.

Those experiences shaped my understanding of leadership: it’s not about rank or authority, but composure, judgment, and care. I learned how systems function under stress — and more importantly, how people do.

Now, I’m channeling those lessons into research and analysis. My interests are expanding into risk management, intelligence integration, and policy strategy — fields where structure meets insight and where critical thinking can make real-world impact.

Academic Focus

At Bellevue University, my studies explore the intersection of national security, human security, and environmental policy. I’m especially interested in how institutional capacity and social trust influence stability — how systems built to protect can either empower or fail the people they serve.

My academic work reflects a deep curiosity about the human side of systems — how data, decisions, and lived experiences shape one another.

“Understanding is its own form of security.”

That idea guides how I approach both my research and my professional life.
